Anthony Papavasiliou

Anthony is an Assistant Professor in the department of Mathematical Engineering in the Université catholique de Louvain. He is also affiliated with the Center for Operations Research and Econometrics (CORE). Formerly Anthony completed his PhD and post-doctoral research at the department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at UC Berkeley, working with Professor Shmuel Oren. His work is focused on the impacts of large-scale renewable energy integration and demand response integration on power system operations and power markets. He completed his undergraduate studies at the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering with a focus on electric power systems and power electronics. He has received the 2015 INFORMS best publication award in energy. He has served as a researcher at the United States Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Palo Alto Research Center, the E3MLab and as a consultant for the Belgian Regulatory Authority for Electricity and Gas, Quantil and SunRun. He has also served in the technical program committees of the Power Systems Computation Conference (2016) and EnergyCon (2016).
